This Privacy Policy outlines the types of information HealClick collects from individuals who have registered to join HealClick (“Members”) and how it is shared with third parties such as research institutions, pharmaceutical companies, biotechnology companies, and non-profits (“Partners”).

We reserve the right to modify this policy at any time, and without prior notice, by posting an amended Privacy Policy and terms on this website. We encourage Members to review this policy periodically for any updates.

How Data is Shared and Used:

The following describe the visibility of data:

  1. Confidential Data: HealClick never shares this data with anyone else. HealClick may send notifications and occasional updates to the email address you provide.
  2. Community Data: Registered members can view these data*.  
  3. Public Data: Non-registered users can view this content.*

*In an effort to improve disease research and patient outcomes, HealClick may report Community Data in aggregate to share with and/or sell to Partners for research and clinical trial use.  Important: HealClick removes all personal identifiers according to HIPAA de-identification guidelines. However, if Members choose to share personal information such as names and email addresses in public free text fields (e.g. topics, reviews, replies, reviews, comments) this information may be reasonably used to identify them.  Read more about how your Public Data is used under "Responsibility of Contributors" section in our Terms of Use



Cookies:

A cookie is a small data file that often includes an anonymous, unique token, which is sent to your browser from a website’s computers and may be stored on your computer’s hard drive. Two types of cookies are required to use the Site:

  1. Session Cookies are temporary cookies that remain only until you log out of the website or exit your web browser. Session Cookies do not store any Personal Information, only a unique visitor ID number that may be used to ensure Members are properly authenticated and can view site information.
  2. Persistent Cookies remain in the cookie file of your browser for much longer, even after you leave the Site. Persistent Cookies also do not store any Personal Information. Persistent Cookies store preferences that should persist from visit to visit, like “Remember Me,” and a unique token to enable us to understand how Members use the Site.



Posting Anonymously:

If you have a sensitive matter to discuss and don’t want your username associated with posts, you always have the option of posting anonymous. Just select “Post Anonymously” when posting.



HealClick Security:

HealClick cannot guarantee the authenticity of any of the information Members publish, including their identity.  HealClick makes every effort to maintain the security of Member data, but Members should not expect that their personal information, searches, or other communications will always remain secure. Members should careful about disclosing personal information and should avoid sending personal information through insecure email. Do not give out your password to anyone impersonating as a HealClick employee; we will never ask for your password. Please make sure to choose a strong password when creating your account.
